至5月8日，德军约德尔上将和柏林城防司令魏德林将军通知各部停止抵抗，由于德军部队间的通讯已被切断，未收到通知的部队仍然在作战，但此时德军大势已去。此时苏军在城内到处接收德国溃军，一经抓住SS下级官兵立即枪毙，连伤员也不放过。
