曾经辉煌的反坦克步枪
反坦克步枪的历史，从第一次世界大战坦克出现不久后开始，直到1945年二战结束，跨越27个年头，历经了发展、顶峰以及衰落的过程。反坦克步枪在两次世界大战中均发挥了重要的作用，闪烁出耀眼的光芒。
第一次世界大战中，随着西线战事愈演愈烈，交战双方都难以突破对方以机枪为主要武器的绵亘阵地，于是居心叵测的德军开始在战场上使用毒气。为了对付德军的毒气，1916年9月英法联军在索姆河发动了攻势，在索姆河战役中，9月15日这天英国军队第一次使用新式武器——坦克，为了保密,称其为 “tank”（箱、罐之意，“坦克”即音译）。
世界战争史上第一次有坦克参战的战斗打响了，庞大的钢铁怪物怒吼着向敌人冲去，碾平了掩体，轧毁了机枪阵地，使德军损失惨重。英国坦克的参战，迫使德国陆军急于寻找一种武器来对付这个钢铁怪物，这种武器要求：质量不能太重，要轻到一个人可以携带；威力要大，能足以破坏车辆，最好能像野战炮一样，直接瞄准射击就可以摧毁坦克。
德国7.92mm PzB38反坦克步枪
PzB38反坦克步枪是德国莱茵梅塔—博尔西希公司研制生产的，以毛瑟 M1918反坦克步枪为基础，但做了很多改进。首先，该枪采用的7.92×95mm 枪弹与7.92mm毛瑟步枪弹就与原枪弹有很大的不同，主要是威力提高了很多，枪口动能增加了1.7倍。7.92×95mm枪弹是在13×92mmSR步枪弹的基础上将13mm口径的弹壳收口到7.92mm口径，使弹头具有更好的穿甲性能，更适合在近距离对付装甲厚度提高了的坦克。该弹的弹头结构除了采用被甲穿甲钢心外，还带有催泪毒气囊，枪弹发射后，毒气能够快速污染坦克里的空气以伤害车内的人员或迫使车内人员离开。催泪毒气囊与弹头构成一体，这是在检查缴获的弹药时才发现的。
PzB38反坦克步枪是单发步枪，采用楔闩横动式闭锁机构，看上去简直就像一门炮。发射后，枪管后坐，带动凸轮机构完成枪机开锁和抛壳动作，这时弹膛打开，装填一发弹后，推上枪机并使之闭锁。该枪全枪长 1595mm，空枪质量15.88kg，枪管长1092mm，4条右旋膛线，手工装填，发射7.92×95mm枪弹，全弹长118mm，弹头质量14.38g，弹头初速1210m/s，穿甲性能为30mm/ 100m/60°。
在一段时间里，PzB38反坦克步枪被认为是一种可以满足使用要求的武器，但生产厂家认为，该武器的结构复杂，且造价高，不利于大量生产。于是出现了一种与之通用的型号，这就是PzB39（又称为GrB39）反坦克步枪，发射相同的7.92×95mm枪弹，保持了原来的侵彻性能。PzB39主要改进之处是去掉了枪管后坐式的半自动结构，改成完全手动式，使武器结构大大简化、质量减轻、生产成本降低。PzB39全枪长1581mm，空枪质量12.35kg，枪管长 1066mm，弹头初速1265m/s。PzB39在德国莱茵梅塔—博尔西希公司、奥地利斯太尔—戴姆勒—普赫公司及其他一些公司都有生产。
随着坦克装甲厚度的增强，反坦克步枪的发展处于萎缩状态，PzB39与其他反坦克步枪一样，截短了枪管，在枪管的前面装一个榴弹发射器，改成用枪榴弹打坦克。
