Bailey Bridge - An introduction

** EDIT: This post originally started out as a quick photo shoot of the Bailey Pontoons, but due to the interest it garnered I added the Introduction to the Bailey bridge, so scroll down to post 7 for the beginning of the Introduction.**

So following the marathon maintenance session I've just completed on my house (with the aid of my brothers...they worked and I pleaded carpal tunnel and made the tea) I have found it necessary to clear out the garage and in doing so I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures of the larger parts of the Bailey Bridge Pontoon set, i.e. the actual pontoons themselves. Now bear in mind that these are in-fact 1/6th scale.

First up is a quick shot of the dis-assembled Pontoons. A full pontoon is made up of 2 end sections and one middle section. In the foreground you can see a stack of end sections, just behind these you can see a stack of middle sections and beyond that you can see another stack of end sections. All-in-all I have 20 end sections and 10 middle sections giving me 10 full pontoons in 1/6th scale
