BLT 1/1 Trains for Future With Special Operations Training Group

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Pfc. Matthew Lopez, a rifleman for 2nd Squad, 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, scans for a mock sniper during a helicopter training raid aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aug. 31. Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163 (Reinforced) supported the training with two CH-53E “Super Stallions” two AH-1W “Super Cobras” and six CH-46E “Sea Knights.”

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Marines from 2nd Platoon Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, clear rooms while conducting live fire training inside a shoot house aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aug. 30. The close quarter combat drills helped the platoon train for their deployment mission role as a trailer platoon working with reconnaissance platoons.

This portion of the training helped the Marines sharpen the marksmanship skills necessary for close quarters combat.
